Seth Moore
Seth moved his family to Yaak, MT in 2011. He decided that this is where he wanted to stay and raise his boys. Seth chose to stay because, to him, the Yaak is the last, best place. Here, he can garden, forage, raise livestock, and hunt. Here, he feels connected to the land more so than anywhere else—a participant in nature rather than an observer. Here, function trumps fashion. The outdoors trumps the indoors. Making do with what you have trumps materialism.
Joel Edminster
Joel grew up in WA, the son of an ER doctor. No one in his family hunted, but he desired to be a part of nature, specifically, to his family’s home in the Yaak, rather than an observer. His mother drove him to the family property where he hunted grouse. It gave him a sense of pride to have provided the meat for his family. He became an ER doctor but has remained connected to the land by foraging and hunting. He has three kids and has happily been married for 15 years to his wife, Angie.
Sean McAfee
Sean grew up in the Yaak, the son of an outfitter. He attended the one-room schoolhouse in the Yaak. Teaching people to love and understand the land through hunting and fishing is in his blood. He cares deeply for this corner of Montana that he calls home and knows it better than anyone else. He has two kids and is happily married to his wife, Erin.
